LEMON RICE | HOW TO MAKE LEMON RICE

LEMON RICE RECIPE- Lemon Rice is a clean rice preparation which has a super flavor as it’s far spiced up with curry leaves, turmeric, whole purple chillies, and mustard seeds. Fresh Lemon juice makes it slightly tangy which further enhances its flavor and offers it a different flavor.

Lemon rice is one of the most popular and often made rice recipe in South India. It is without a doubt scrumptious and can be made quite speedy. You could make this recipe with clean or leftover rice.

Lemon Rice can be eaten as major path or as a aspect dish. Kids love this tasty and aromatic rice and the dish is a great preference for tiffin box.

Ingredients:

One Cup regular Rice (or 3 Cups Cooked Rice)

2 Tablespoon Peanuts

10-15 Curry Leaves (Kari Patta)

2 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)

1 Teaspoon Rai (Black Mustard Seeds)

1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)

half Teaspoon Urad Dal (Split & Skinned Black Lentils)

half of Teaspoon Chana Dal (Split Chickpeas)

2-three Whole Dried Red Chillies

half Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)

1/8 Teaspoon Asafoetida (Heeng)

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

2-3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice

2 Tablespoons Oil

Directions:

  • First take one cup of Rice, Wash and rinse with water. Then upload them in a strain cooker together with half teaspoon Salt, 2 teaspoons Oil and 2 cups of Water. If cooking in an open pot, add three cups of Water.
  • Cook the rice until you get 2 whistles then look ahead to it to quiet down. Then gently fluff the rice with a fork. You also can use leftover rice.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons Oil in a pan and roast the peanuts. Then put off the peanuts and set them apart.
  • In the equal pan, add 1 teaspoon Black Mustard Seeds (Rai) and let them crackle.
  • When the Mustard Seeds begin to splutter, upload 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds and fry them for some seconds.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon Urad Dal (break up & skinned Black Lentils) and half of teaspoon Chana Dal (cut up Chickpeas). Fry them until they turn golden brown.
  • Add 2-3 entire dried Red Chillies and fry them for a minute.
  • Add 10-15 Curry Leaves along side finely chopped Green Chillies to the pan.
  • Then add half of teaspoon Turmeric Powder and 1/8 teaspoon Asafoetida (Heeng).
  • Add the cooked rice to the pan. Add 2-three tablespoons of Lemon Juice to the rice.
  • Toss the rice gently to coat them inside the tempering.
  • Now upload the roasted Peanuts to the rice and blend the whole thing collectively.
  • Turn off the warmth and allow the rice sit for 5 minutes.


Servings Idea:  Lemon Rice is now ready, you can serve the lemon rice with papad and raita or coconut chutney or just have lemon rice plain. Lemon rice may be fine loved with a salad and papad (spiced skinny & crispy lentil flour wafer). You can also enjoy this dish with not unusual veggies dishes, curd, raita or chutney.
